Art & Design Technology
The Art and Design department aims to provide opportunities for pupils to
work in a wide range of media and gain experiences in drawing, painting, mixed
media, print, and three dimensional materials.
Topics include colour,
printmaking and drawing, portraiture, mask making, using clay, plaster, bandage
and papier mâché and graphic design.
In Design Technology the children
are set a project to complete each term where they design one object thinking of
the materials to use and the method of construction.
They will carefully
construct their model, correcting any design problems they may come across. Their projects become increasingly more challenging as they develop their skills
and may range from simple acrylic keyrings to a waterwheel which drives a
carousel.
