SCHOLARSHIPS
Assessment and auditions, for entry in September 2008, will be held on May 2nd/3rd 2008
Applications are invited from Boys and Girls under 11 on 1st September 2008 for:
Academic
Music
All - rounder
Awards of up to 20% of fees are available. They are tenable for the duration of the child's time at St. Martin's Ampleforth, although they do not imply any claim on Ampleforth College, which awards its own Academic Scholarships at 13+ without restriction or obligation.
We are also able to offer additional Bursary depending upon financial circumstances.
ELIGIBILITY FOR CHORAL SCHOLARSHIPS
Children applying when aged 7-9 need not necessarily have any prior choral experience. Children of 10 and upwards should have some experience unless there are exceptional circumstances. Candidates should be able to perform to a reasonable standard (appropriate to their age) on a musical instrument. As part of the audition process, candidates will be expected to sing a solo and perform on their instrument(s) music of their own choice.
ELIGIBILITY FOR INSTRUMENTAL SCHOLARSHIPS
Children applying when aged 7-9 should be able to perform to a reasonable standard (Associated Board grade 1-2) on an instrument and be considering starting another instrument. Children aged 10-11 should be at an equivalent standard of Grade 3 (Associated Board) on their first instrument and to have made good progress on a second instrument. Children of age 11 and upwards should be working towards grade 5 on their first instrument and grade 3 on their second instrument.
