Gifted and Talented - Lyceum Group
The aim of the Lyceum is to provide a forum in which our most able students are given opportunities to explore new and exciting challenges designed to help them to develop their talents, discover new interests and prepare themselves for the world beyond the classroom. At Lyceum they are encouraged to discuss, debate and assimilate new information, arriving at informed opinions, which they are able to defend in a logical and reasonable manner. Above all they are encouraged to think.
Scholarships to senior schools
On average 25% of our departing Year 8 pupils attract scholarships from Ampleforth College or other Independent secondary schools. These scholarships range from the purely academic to music and all rounder awards. As part of our Gifted and Talented programme, talented pupils are identified, encouraged and supported early on which has significantly raised the number of scholarships awarded in recent years.
