Flag Football 2009: Report Six
8 June 2009
The Regular season came to a rousing conclusion with two fine games, played in tremendous spirit.
THE MIGHTY BOOSH v THE AMERICAN PIECHARTS
The Boosh needed to win by 31 points if they were to creep into the 3rd Place Playoff. Unfortunately, despite a fine game with some solid drives, they could not break through.
The Piecharts suffered a series of interceptions, which kept them under pressure, but managed the only score on one of their few forays into Boosh territory. Elliot Stewart had another fine game as a tackler, joined by Marcus Pickstone, but one glaring miss keeps Cormac Spence of the Foreign Warriors just ahead as Defender of the Year.

THE FUNKY PUNKY PANTHERS v THE DUNGEON RATS
Here the Rats only needed to win by 13 points if they were to creep into the 3rd Place Playoff. However, things began badly with an interception and 3 scores making the task almost impossible. Yet they did not give up and, playing their best game of the season , made a rousing comeback with two tremendous scores by Robert Brunskill. Sadly, it was too little too late as a final interception by James Wood sealed the victory.
