St. Martin's Ampleforth U-13 Girls head the field

Crisp, clear, sunny weather gave near-perfect conditions for Thursday’s Cross Country Meeting at St.Martin’s Ampleforth. Eleven other prep schools competed, with a total of 204 runners from U-11 and U-13 Boys and Girls respectively. Four different schools emerged as winners of individual categories. St. Martin’s Ampleforth U-13 Girls won in their category - with Queen Margarets and Sedbergh as runners-up in a field of 51 runners. Olivia Smerdon, Isabella Armitage and Hattie Duree took second, third and fourth places respectively; the winning individual being Poppy Kettlewell of Queen Margarets.

Among the U-13 Boys, Raphael Gould came sixth out of 49; St. Martin’s Ampleforth taking third place overall after Sedbergh and Cundall Manor. Among the Juniors, in the U11 Boys Tom-Tom Scott-Masson snatched fourth place from 61; followed by Theo Smerdon at eighth. St. Martin’s Ampleforth gained second place overall – after Cundall Manor and ahead of Lyndhurst. Finally, among the U-11 Girls, Mary Laird came seventh out of 43; St. Martin’s Ampleforth coming third overall after Lyndhurst and Sedburgh.
