Novelist enthuses would-be writers
As a follow-on from World Book day, on March 16, Year 7 and 8 students had an extra treat - being part of a national book launch, and having the opportunity to speak to a successful author about writing for a wider public. St. Martin's Ampleforth hosted the 'unveiling' of children's author Gemma Malley's The Killables series. This follows her The Declaration trio of novels, which explores a world where dying has been abolished by medical progress, and radical measure are taken in the rearing of 'surplus' children. Gemma Malley, who lives in London with her young family, worked for the National Health Service and Ofsted before focusing on writing.
