UKMT Junior Mathematical Challenge

On Thursday 26th April some of the children in Years 6 to 8 (48 children) took part in the UK Mathematics Trust Challenge.     The children were given an hour to complete a series of mathematical challenges.   The results of the challenge are then sent off to the School of Mathematics at the University of Leeds for marking.

Depending on their scores children will be awarded Bronze, Silver or Gold Awards.  Around 1200 of the highest scorers throughout the UK are invited to participate in the Junior Mathematical Olympiad.

The UK Mathematics Trust (UKMT) is a registered charity whose aim is to advance the education of children and young people in mathematics. The UKMT organises national mathematics competitions and other mathematical enrichment activities for 11-18 year old UK school pupils.  Each challenge leads into a follow-on Olympiad round.

We will let you know how we get on.
